Cabin Luggage and Allowances
Start with the cabin-bag allowance on your booking, then compare it with the outside dimensions and empty weight of the case you choose. What you can take on board varies by airline, fare and route.
Flying with Ryanair or Aer Lingus?
Ryanair includes one small bag up to 40 x 30 x 20 cm to go under the seat. Its 10 kg overhead bag, up to 55 x 40 x 20 cm, is for Priority bookings.
Aer Lingus includes one small personal item up to 40 x 30 x 20 cm. On European flights, a 10 kg bag up to 55 x 40 x 24 cm can go on board if your fare or extras allow it; otherwise, you can drop it at check-in without charge. Transatlantic rules differ.
Rules below were checked on 23 September 2026 and can change.
Overhead cabin bag allowances
These are general airline limits, not a guarantee that every product in a Tripp filter will be accepted. Where a weight limit is marked “combined”, your underseat bag and overhead bag share that limit.

Smaller bags for under the seat
The free small-bag limits for five popular airlines are: Ryanair 40 x 30 x 20 cm; Aer Lingus 40 x 30 x 20 cm; easyJet 45 x 36 x 20 cm; Wizz Air 40 x 30 x 20 cm; and Vueling 40 x 30 x 20 cm. These small bags are included with the airlines’ basic fares. A larger overhead bag may depend on your ticket.
Choosing your cabin luggage
Airline filters help narrow the choice, but your booking and the airline’s current policy are the final checks.

Cabin luggage FAQs
Check the cabin-bag rules on the airline’s own website and in your booking. Then compare those limits with the outside dimensions and empty weight on the Tripp product page.
Some tickets include only a smaller bag for under the seat. A larger bag for the overhead locker may need a different fare or an added option. Check what your booking includes before choosing a case.
Measure the whole bag, including wheels and handles, and check its packed weight. Compare both with the allowance on your booking and the airline’s current policy before you travel.
